Therapy for Complex Trauma & Anxiety
Complex trauma rarely announces itself as trauma. More often it shows up as anxiety that never fully switches off, a relentless inner critic, depression that descends without obvious cause, or relationships that keep repeating the same painful shape. If any of that is familiar, what you're experiencing makes sense, and it can change.
The symptoms that bring most people to therapy began as solutions: hypervigilance kept you safe in an unpredictable environment; perfectionism earned love that felt conditional; numbness got you through what couldn't be felt at the time. Using Internal Family Systems, we work with these protective parts rather than against them, so the old pain they've been guarding can finally heal rather than just be managed. My practice centers on complex PTSD and anxiety, along with depression, OCD, eating disorders, codependency, life transitions, relationship issues, and existential distress.
We meet weekly by secure video, wherever you are in California. Early sessions are about safety and getting to know your inner landscape. There is no pressure to relive anything before you're ready.
