The Zendo Project: Psychedelic Peer Support
The Zendo Project is a psychedelic harm reduction and peer support initiative founded through MAPS (the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies). At festivals and events around the world, Zendo volunteers provide a safe, supportive space for people moving through difficult psychedelic experiences, meeting distress with presence rather than judgment and turning crisis into an opportunity for growth.
I founded the Zendo Project and led it as MAPS' Director of Harm Reduction, training and coordinating volunteers and sitting with people through some of the most intense experiences a psyche can have. I continued serving on its board as the project matured, and once Zendo was on steady footing I passed it into new hands so I could focus fully on psychedelic research and therapy. Its ethos of creating safety, meeting people where they are, and trusting each person's innate capacity to heal remains the foundation of how I practice today.
